AFP interface

Hi All
I have just installed AFP 1.2.6. and downloaded latest updates, my problem is that I cannot get a good connection betwwen my Tx and AFP, when I insert the interface jack the Tx bleeps but nothing happens in the calibration window until I pull the jack out of the socket a bit and a lot of activity goes on in the window, all unstable, completely unable to calibrate at all.
I have Windows XP, pentium 4 1.6 GHz, 265ddr, Geforce FX5200 with latest drivers, and a JR X2610. Is it true some AFP leads were wired incorrectly?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated,

What an excelent forum! After searching it for a while with the right words I fixed the problem with the soldering the plug method and have been flying the Stearman. Fabulous!! AFP is soooo-goood, the best!

Hi, my PCM10x does exactly the same!!!, what did you do?, i did notice with the TX turned ON it worked OK ??, is the TX meant to be turned ON or OFF?
