JR Tx not there?

I've been using Aerofly for about a year now with great success, but have finally got hold of the easyfly package to get better graphics. Trouble is that the software cannot find my JR3810 transmitter!!! - I switch between Aerofly (which is working 100%) and Easyfly and every time, the transmitter cannot be found. What am I doing wrong here? I haven't got a joystick attached so I can't even 'play' with the software!
