    Red face ATI Radeon 5850

    Hello to all from Slovenia!

I just purchased Aerofly 5 upgrade pack, did an upgrade to my AFPD platinum pack. More or less everything is working fine, but I have some issues with the graphics where I would like to get some advice. I apologize in advance if I missed any threads where this was already covered. Most of the threads are in German, which I have problems with...

    My computer configuration:
    - Intel Core i5-750 @ 2,67GHz
    - Sapphire ATI Radeon 5850 1G DDR5
    - 6GB RAM (A-DATA 1600MHz CL9)
    - Gigabayte GA-P55-UD5 motherboard with integrated sound card
    - Windows 7 ultimate
    - IKARUS USB interface w Futaba T9CP Super radio
    - Aerofly 5 version 5.0.1.12

My first problem are 4D sceneries with water (carrier & both islands). They are not displayed correctly, some parts are missing, some things are overlapping, model is not visible, but its shadow is. I have attached some screen shots. All other sceneries are working just fine.

Second issue arises when I try to install the latest patch (af5-v5000301.exe). When I launch the sim after installing the patch, graphics is completely crashed. After showing some squares instead of text while loading it ends up in black and white screen where I can only recognize the new circular quick menu. I have to close Aerofly with ALT+F4, then I have to reinstall the previous version to get it working again. I didn't create a screen shot yet, I'll attach it later, when I recreate the problem.

Otherwise I have to congratulate to the whole development team, you've done a great job with AeroFly5!

    Hello Robert,

you are probably using the wrong ATI driver with the wrong AeroFly 5 version. Here is what you have to do.

    1) Install the latest AeroFly 5 Version 5.0.3.1.

    2) Download the ATI Catalyst driver version 9.11 for Windows 7 32 Bit:
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...?&lang=English

    3) Uninstall the previous driver using the Windows control panel. If an uninstall option for the ATI driver is not shown there skip this step.

    4) Install the ATI Catalyst driver version 9.11 you just download. If the installer asks you to uninstall any previous driver please do so! After uninstalling reboot the system and start the installer again.

If you perform the above steps AeroFly 5 should work just fine.

Once ATI comes out with the 10.1 driver and still shows the same problems as in the 9.12 driver we will further investigate the issue.

Roland, Torsten, thanks for your replies..

Yes, I had Catalyst 9.12 installed. I just installed version 9.11, but 64 bit. I have Windows 7 64 bit installed...

The issues are still the same but with "old" Aerofly 5 version. I'll install the patch...

Torsten, should it work with 9.11 64 bit also?
    Kind Regards,

    Robert

    Robert,

it doesn't matter if you use 32 or 64 bit. Just use this link to download the 9.11 driver for x64:

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...?&lang=English

We use Windows 7 with x64 in house with ATI catalyst and have no problems at all.
