Default Help Please AFPD Can't find DX5e TX

    Hi,

I have successfully loaded AFPD and the patch on to my Mac. When it tries to connect to the TX it finds the USB but not the TX.

The Pics Attached are of the error message and the cables that came with the software.

I got the software form the UK, it was my understanding that I didn't need any additional adapters.

I am trying to connect to a Spektrum DX5e.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Rob

I think it would be good to publish this info here AND in the instructions, as the Spektrum (particularly DX7) is very widely used for helis.
It's certainly baffled me. I made up my own "JR-style" 3.5mm plug, and the Tx fires up as described, but it just doesn't get recognised by the program.
I look forward to the solution!

    Hello Nigel,

you need a special adapter for some Spectrum transmitters. Please have a look at the official IKARUS Support site at http://support.ikarus.net

Specifically the required adapter for Spectrum transmitters is listed here:

    Thank you for your reply.
That does look for all the world like a 3.5mm socket attached to a ribbon cable with a servo lead on the end. So the original lead plugs into the socket, but what do I do with the servo plug? My DX7 Tx only has a 3.5mm socket for training etc.
